See you Saturday

Well it seems like everyone is enjoying Butterfly Garden. I appreciate all of the nice comments, it really adds to the fun of designing. I am amazed at the number of downloads since Thursday morning. I still can't get over the fact that I can have a blog and all of the storage space and download capability and it does not cost me a penny. I am working hard on part 3 so be sure to come back Saturday, I can promise a grand finale!

Butterfly Garden Part 2

You all have lucked out, I had meant to divide the paper into the 3 parts, with 3 papers in each download, but after finishing the elements at 1:00 a.m this morning I got ready to package this part, that’s when I realized that I had given ALL of the papers in the first download. Sooooo I decided to make 3 more papers for part 2. I can’t promise 3 more for Saturday’s download, but who knows….
I had hoped to have more elements done for today but I spent yesterday reorganizing my hard drives. This digital scrapping and kit designing can really eat up the HD space. Some of my paper designs can end up being 4-500 mb documents. If you look closely you can see that the textures are made from many, many layers. One of my Mac HDs was partitioned badly so yesterday I reinstalled my operating system and most of my software, I hated to spend the time but now I have a nice clean OS and everything is organized well.
I really appreciate all of the wonderful comments I have received; it really makes this all the more fun. Be sure to come by on Saturday for the third part of Butterfly Garden and possibly a preview of next week’s kit.

Butterfly Garden Part 1

I really appreciate all of the wonderful comments for my Infatuation kit and for the name suggestions. There were a few names I was considering but when after I designed the butterflies I knew what the name had to be. I had hoped to have the first part of this ready on Monday and I was just about finished with the papers when I started designing the elements. I had gone the grungier route but when I started designing the elements I knew that what I had in mind was not going to work with the papers. The flowers and butterflies were perkier than the paper so I decided to go back and “degrunge” the papers. Fortunately I had all of the paper in very large (some over 400 mgs) PSDs still. I am SO happy with this kit so it was worth the time to go back and redo it.

The kit will be a three-part download that will finish up on Saturday. Below is a preview of all the papers. Today’s download will have three papers and some yummy embellishments. I hope you enjoy it and will come back for more. I do not have previews of the rest of the embellishments yet as they are still in progress but I promise that they will be just as great. Enjoy!
P.S.If you are interested the links for Infatuation are still active.

A new flower for Infatuation

The more I looked at the flower on the Infatuation frame the LESS I liked it, as a matter of fact I REALLY hate it. I made you a new flower that you can plop over that other flower and we can pretend it was never there.
Link removed, flower is in kit.

I am mortified

I could not believe my eyes when I opened the frame from Infatuation part 3 and put a black background behind it. There was a ring of white around the ferns. If you downloaded part 3 already the link for the new frame is below.
For those of you who downloaded it already I am SO SORRY for any trouble this might have caused you, all I can do is give you more freebies next week (without white fringes) next week.

Download frame with defringed ferns and new flower here. Link removed, Frame is in the kit.

Infatuation Part 3 and a Sneak Peek

Part 3, link has been removed.

I had hoped to get this uploaded sooner in the day but this designing stuff just takes SO long. Part of my problem is that there are so many choices, I have a hard time making up my mind. Another thing that happened is that I got side tracked when I started designing next week’s freebie. I have a sneak peek below but I would like your opinion on what you would prefer. I tend to go for the grunge look but this kit could go either way and look great. If you have a minute please let me know if you prefer the grunge or clean look.

Another BIG thanks to Al Ward at http://actionfx.com/ His styles and shapes are all over this kit. If you haven’t visited his site yet go now, well actually download part 3 of my kit first, then go to Action FX and get Al’s great freebies and check out his great subscription plan.

I hope you enjoy part 3 of Infatuation, I would love to see what you do with my kits so send me the link if you upload.

Preview of next week's freebie. Name suggestions would be appreciated

Thank you

Thank you so much for all of your nice comments. I was hoping you all would like it but I am overwhelmed at the response. It was fun through out the day to check on the number of downloads. Even my kids were impressed. Come back tomorrow for the next part of the kit and for a sneak peek at the free kit for next week.

Welcome to my new blog. I hope you become a regular visitor. I plan on offering freebies on a regular basis. I have lots of ideas, I just have to take the time to figure out how to manifest them.

I want to give a special thanks to AL Ward at http://actionfx.com/
Al has over 83,000 Photoshop downloads on the site with an amazing array of styles, brushes and actions. The subscription plans he offers are extremely inexpensive and it works out to paying a small fraction of a penny per item that is available to download. Just this month he uploaded several thousand more awesome items. He has a free download area so go check it out, you WILL be amazed.

Hopefully everything will go smoothly with today’s downloads. I will be monitoring comments here and at the DST forum all day, so if you have ANY problems please let me know right away.

Happy Mother's Day!

Dear Mom,
Happy Mother’s Day. You are the very first one to see my blog. I just started setting it up last week so I have not done much yet. I tried to post pictures that were fairly recent so they are not especially great quality and oddly enough I did not have any real recent pictures of Meg except of her as a grease monkey working on her car. I might post those later but I wanted to use a nice one of her for your Mother’s day “card.”
I hope you have a nice Mother's Day, I Love You,
Julie
